What's new in TaleSelf: October 2026
A streak calendar, streak freezes, a home screen widget, characters with real feelings, league chests and crowns, and new ways to read a sentence.
Your streak calendar 🔥
Tap your streak and scroll down: the calendar shows every day of the month. Days you practised join up into one orange run, so a long streak looks like one.
A day a streak freeze saved shows as a blue snowflake, and a day you missed stays plain. Tap the arrows to see earlier months.
Streak freezes save your streak 🧊
Life happens. When you miss a day, a streak freeze you own steps in by itself and keeps your streak going. The home screen tells you when one was used.
A freeze costs 75 coins, and you can hold 2 at a time.
Characters with real feelings ✨
Every character got a softer look, with real arms and hands that wave hello when you tap them.
They show how they feel, and hold it long enough to see: a big grin, tears when things go wrong, a red face when they are cross, wide eyes when something surprises them, and a hand on the chin while they think.
Your streak on your home screen
Add the TaleSelf widget to your Android home screen to see your streak and your character without opening the app.
Your character looks happy once today is done, and counts down the hours left when it is not. After midnight the widget moves on by itself.
League chests and season crowns 🏆
Each week, first, second and third in your league win a chest: 200, 120 and 60 coins in Bronze, and more in every league above, up to 6 times that in Diamond.
The top 3 of a season wear its crown, in gold, silver or bronze, as a king or queen outfit that fits their character.
Read a sentence your way 📖
Tap a sentence to open it on its own: hear it, read the translation, and tap any word to see what it means.
The spoken word lights up while the narrator reads (you can turn that off in Settings). Long-press the audio and choose Loop to hear a part again and again.
At A1 and A2, new words now come at a calmer pace, so a story never piles on too many at once.
Nudge a friend 👋
After your daily step, TaleSelf shows friends who have not played yet. Send a nudge, and if they finish their day (that day or the next), you both get 10 coins.
A bigger character shop
The shop has new looks to unlock: curly, long and short hair, beards, seven kinds of glasses, hats, and outfits from a striped tee to a suit.
